For the second time back to back, Exeter Chiefs Women head into the Allianz Premier 15s final after clinching the victory against opponents Saracens Women in the semi-final on Sunday 11th June. SAMURAI wants to offer an enormous congratulations to the players for their outstanding performance.
After losing the title at last year's final, Exeter Chiefs Women again found themselves facing rivals and three-time champions Saracens Women, this time at Chiefs home stadium Sandy Park. Though Chiefs Women came out fighting, it was Saracens Women that took the nail-biting lead by the half-time whistle. The second half saw a tenacious Chiefs team battling hard to snatch the victory and finally emerging triumphant with the final whistle call, the scoreboard showing their 24 - 21 win.
The Women’s Premiership, established in 1990, sees the very best of the women’s rugby clubs in England compete - from the season’s kick off in autumn to the final held in the following June - and to reach the final and be crowned the Allianz Premier 15s League winners. Invited to participate as part of the 2020/21 season, Exeter Chiefs Women have proved to be phenomenal opponents, not only reaching last year’s semi-final but also taking home the Allianz Cup.
Such a fantastic effort from both teams, well done to everyone! SAMURAI are proud to supply and support the amazing players of the Exeter Chiefs Women’s team, and we want to wish the best of luck for the final.
